A young Ecuadorian midfielder with plenty of potential, Pedro Vite joined Whitecaps FC in August 2021 from Ecuadorian first division side Independiente Del Valle.
Vite agreed to an MLS U22 Initiative contract through 2025.

'23: Vite took a step forward in 2023, as he made 29 starts and a team-high 45 appearances across all competitions, appearing in all but one match (against Club León on July 21 in Leagues Cup play). The Ecuadorian was deployed as an attacking midfielder in Vanni Sartini’s 4-3-2-1 formation to start the year, and was later utilized as a central midfielder on either the right or left sides of a 3-1-4-2 or 3-4-2-1. Vite recorded a career-high six goals and five assists across all competitions and in the process became the second player in club history to score against all three Texas-based MLS teams (Austin FC, FC Dallas, Houston Dynamo FC) in one season. His strike against Houston on May 31 came inside the first 15 seconds of the match, setting a record for the fastest goal in the club’s MLS era. He followed that up with another quick goal against Austin on July 12 inside 29 seconds to become the second player in league history to score twice within the first 30 seconds of a match in the same season. In addition, Vite was ranked 16th overall in MLS' 2023 22 Under 22 list. He was the only South American on the list to have scored for his country at the senior level and the only player to feature in all 34 of his team’s regular season matches.
'22: In his first full season with the club, Vite started 14 of his 24 appearances across all competitions. The Ecuadorian playmaker scored his first ‘Caps goal against Los Angeles Galaxy on September 13 and followed it up by scoring again against Seattle Sounders FC on September 17, receiving recognition for his performances in both matches by being named to the MLS Team of the Week for Week 31. Vite also recorded two assists during the season.
'21: Upon receiving his visa and work permit, Vite arrived in Vancouver towards the end of October and was named to the bench in the club’s last regular season home match against Seattle Sounders FC on November 7.
INTERNATIONAL
Vite received his first call-up to Ecuador’s men’s national team in June 2023 for international friendlies against Bolivia and Costa Rica. Vite made his international debut as a substitute against Costa Rica and went on to score his first international goal in the 82nd minute of the match. In total, the midfielder has gone on to make two appearances for his country.
