Pedro Vite called up to Ecuador's men's national team for March international window

VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC midfielder Pedro Vite has been called up to Ecuador's men's national team for their March international window.

The attacking midfielder will try to help Ecuador stay on track for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, as they currently sit in third place in the CONMBEOL standings.

La Tri host Venezuela on Friday, March 21 at Estadio de Liga Deportiva Universitaria in Quito, Ecuador with kickoff at 2 p.m. PT.

Ecuador then wrap-up the window at Chile in the Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Prádanos with a 5 p.m. PT kickoff on Tuesday, March 25.

Vite will miss the 'Caps MLS regular season home match against Chicago Fire on Saturday, March 22.

The 'Caps maestro has made two starts in four appearances for Ecuador's senior men's national team, scoring on his debut in 2023. Most recently, he started both matches in World Cup qualifying in November as Ecuador won 1-0 over Colombia and 4-0 over Bolivia.

For Whitecaps FC this season, Vite has started in phenomenal form, recording a goal contribution in each of the 'Caps first four matches (1G, 4A in all competitions).
