His performance saw him score all three goals in a vital 3-0 home win for the ‘Caps over San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday.
It was the first multi-goal game of White's MLS career. He has scored eight goals in his past nine MLS appearances, and tied his career high with nine goals on the season.
At BC Place, White now has seven goals in six matches at his home stadium, scoring at least once in four of those six appearances.
Earlier in the day the native of Flemington, New Jersey was also named to the MLS Team of the Week.
The MLS Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season through both media and fan voting in a process conducted by MLS Communications. A panel of journalists from the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) comprises 75 percent of the vote, while a Twitter fan vote represents the remaining 25 percent of voting. NASR consists of members of print, television, radio and online media.
