In this edition of "Quality Time", presented by GE Appliances, we get to know Whitecaps FC forward Brian White.
What’s your hometown known for?
Hanging out at the Wawa. It’s like where some people will go just like park. Wawa is like a convenience store. I worked there. Wawa was like the only like other job I had, besides soccer. [I was] doing the coffee, I was making sandwiches, smoothies. During college I had to get a job.
Who’s one celebrity you’d most like to meet?
Drake.
If you could pick an actor to play you in a movie about your life, who would you choose?
Ben Affleck.
What’s your favourite genre of music?
Probably like country-folk like Hosier and Lumineers and all that. Folk-indie.
What’s your favourite movie?
Remember the Titans or Miracle.
Describe your dream vacation.
Beach in Mexico. Any beach.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
I've always been told to have fun while playing, if you’re not having fun, it's not worth it. That's always something that's kind of stuck with me.
Describe your style when you’re not on the field.
Pretty casual, pretty comfortable. I like wearing a lot of hoodies and sweatpants, sometimes jeans if I'm feeling fancy.
What’s the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?
These days, first thing I do is text my girlfriend. Then I’ve got to chug water every morning, kind of my routine, especially out here.
Describe the worst haircut you’ve ever had.
Probably when I buzzed my hair after my freshman year in college, that was pretty bad. I let my friend cut it and then it was all messed up so I had to start from scratch.
What would the title of your autobiography be?
I don’t know… like “That’s life.”
Something not many people know about you?
I keep a journal. I have like a written journal and I save them.
What’s one thing that reminds you of home?
It’s very different than my hometown. Maybe seeing pizza shops, eating a bagel or seeing seagulls.
What do you love most about Vancouver?
I like how it’s not very hot, I’m like a huskey, like when it’s hot I sweat too much.
If you had to swap places with a teammate for a day, who would you choose?
Probably Leo Owusu, he’s got a fun lifestyle, cool guy, he can dance a little bit, I can learn how to make egg sauce.
There’s a zombie apocalypse and you can choose three teammates to help you survive it. Who are you picking?
Tristan Blackmon, Sebastian Berhalter and Leo Owusu, we probably wouldn’t survive but it’d at least be fun.
If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
Be able to teleport.

Penthouse apartment in New York City, right above Central Park.
What do you think you will do once your playing days are over?
I think I want to go into finance.
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Spaghetti and meatballs.
