VANCOUVER, BC – Major League Soccer announced on Monday that Vancouver Whitecaps FC forward Brian White has been named to the MLS Team of the Matchday following his performance in the club's regular season home opener against defending MLS Cup champions LA Galaxy.

After tallying a mid-week brace in Concacaf Champions Cup action, White scored his third goal of the season on Sunday thanks to a brilliant header in the 87th minute, giving the 'Caps the late win in front of the home fans. White's goal was his 15th game-winner in MLS regular season play for the 'Caps, further extending that record.
