VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC forward Brian White has been named to the MLS Team of the Matchday following his hat trick performance against St. Louis CITY SC in Matchday 23.

White recorded his second career hat-trick as the 'Caps came back from a 2-0 deficit to win a match for the fourth time in their MLS era and the second time at home, claiming a thrilling 4-3 victory in front of their fans at BC Place. The last time they came back from multiple goals down at home was in June 2013 against New England Revolution.

With his treble, White is now up to eight goals this season across 20 starts and 22 appearances in all competitions. White's goals on Saturday saw him become the first player in the club's MLS era to record multiple hat tricks, while also tying Whitecaps FC's MLS regular season goalscoring record at 39 goals. In fact, both of White's hat tricks for the club have come in Indigenous Celebration matches.

Saturday's match marked the ninth time White has recorded multiple goal contributions in one game during his Whitecaps FC career. In addition, White recorded five successful duels, two clearances, and two recoveries.

This is White's third selection to the MLS Team of the Matchday this season, as he's also been named to the squad in Matchday 5 and Matchday 11. Attacking midfielder Ryan Gauld (Matchday 7, Matchday 10, Matchday 15, Matchday 17, Matchday 18, Matchday 20), forward Fafà Picault (Matchday 7), midfielder Alessandro Schöpf (Matchday 8), wingback Ali Ahmed (Matchday 4), defender Ranko Veselinović (Matchday 8), and goalkeeper Yohei Takaoka (Matchday 8) have also been named to the Team of the Matchday this season.
