ORLANDO, FL – You've seen him do it time after time in Blue and White. Now, he's done it for his country.
On Wednesday night, Vancouver Whitecaps FC forward Brian White scored his first international goal as the United States men's national team claimed a 3-0 victory over Concacaf rivals Costa Rica at Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando, Florida.
The Flemington, New Jersey native started Wednesday's clash, earning his second start and third cap with the national team.
In the 21st minute, White got in behind the Ticos' backline after some smart movement and was supplied with a perfect through ball from Real Salt Lake's Diego Luna. White took one touch with his right foot to control and then rolled a calm, left-footed finish into the bottom corner to open his international account.
White finished 2024 as the highest-scoring American in MLS play with 16 goals and became the club’s leading goalscorer across all competitions in the MLS era.
