WEEKLY STORYLINES

PUSH TO THE PLAYOFFS: With five games remaining in their 2024 MLS NEXT Pro regular season campaign, Whitecaps FC 2 will look to continue their push to the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro Cup Playoffs this week as they continue their five-game homestand at Swangard Stadium. The young 'Caps are set to take on North Texas SC on Sunday in the second meeting of the season between the two sides this season. The Blue and White last faced off against the Texans in their first match of the season, as they drew 0-0 in regulation and secured 4-2 win in the shootout.

CHATEAU SHOW: Forward Nicolas Fleuriau Chateau has enjoyed a productive debut season with WFC2. The 22-year-old, who was selected 74th overall by Whitecaps FC in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft, has scored in three of the last six matches to bring his season total up to eight, which is tied for the most goals in a single season by a WFC2 player in the MLS NEXT Pro era. With a goal on Sunday, the Canadian would break the record which was previously held by former forward Simon Becher during the club's inaugural MLS NEXT Pro season in 2022. Fleuriau Chateau was also involved in the first team's 0-0 draw against FC Dallas on Saturday by coming on as substitute in the second half and playing 27 minutes.
