THE STRETCH RUN: With eight games remaining in their 2024 MLS NEXT Pro regular season campaign, Whitecaps FC 2 sit fifth in a Western Conference playoff spot with 34 points. In fact, five of WFC2's last eight matches will come at Swangard Stadium. Following the team's visit to California on Sunday, the young 'Caps will host LAFC2 the following Sunday, August 25 at Swangard, beginning a run of five straight home matches. WFC2 will finalize their regular season campaign on Sunday, October 6 with an away clash against Houston Dynamo 2.
CHATEAU SHOW: With several players getting called up to the first team, forward Nicolas Fleuriau Chateau has been leading the line for WFC2 over the last couple weeks. The 22-year-old, who was selected 74th overall by Whitecaps FC in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft, has scored in each of the last three matches to bring his season total up to eight, which is tied for the most goals in a single season by a WFC2 player in the MLS NEXT Pro era. Fleuriau Chateau has also recorded three assists and has started 15 of his 17 appearances in his first season with the club.
