PROFILE
A quick, shifty winger from Honduras, Michael Chirinos was acquired by Whitecaps FC on loan from Club Deportivo Olimpia with the use of Targeted Allocation Money in August 2019.

WHITECAPS FC
2019: After arriving in Vancouver midseason, Chirinos quickly made contributions with a goal and an assist in four starts and seven appearances. His goal was one of the most memorable in the 'Caps season, an added-time game-winner at LA Galaxy.

HONDURAS
2014-19: Since making his debut with hometown Olimpia, Chirinos has accumulated 69 starts and 99 appearances in the Honduran Liga SalvaVida, scoring 27 goals. In international competition, he made seven appearances and scored two goals in the Concacaf Champions League, including two matches against Whitecaps FC in 2015. In 2017 he started all eight matches and scored three goals to help Olimpia win the inaugural Concacaf League title.

MEXICO
2018-19: Chirinos spent one season on loan to Liga MX side Club de Fútbol Lobos de la Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (Lobos BUAP). In that time he started all 33 of his appearances, scoring six goals.

INTERNATIONAL
The Honduran earned his 20th senior international appearance for his country in 2019, including starting two of three appearances at the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup. At the youth level, Chirinos played in 10 matches for the Honduras U-20 and U-21 national sides, scoring two goals.
