A left-footed Spanish midfielder with over 300 appearances of experience in European football, including a number of seasons as captain or co-captain, Jon Erice was acquired by Whitecaps FC in January 2019 via transfer from La Liga 2 side Albacete Balompié.
EUROPE
‘17-’19: Prior to his move to MLS, Erice enjoyed two productive years with Albacete Balompié, while serving as co-captain. ‘13-’17: Erice featured with Real Oviedo for four seasons, captaining the side for two seasons and helping them win promotion to La Liga 2 in 2014-15. ‘12-’13: After two seasons overseas, Erice made his return to Spanish La Liga 2 when he joined CD Guadalajara in 2012-13. ‘10-’12: Erice moved to the Cypriot First Division club Apollon Limassol for a year and a half, then to AOK Kerkyra to finish out the 2011-12 season in the Greek Super League. ‘08-’09: Erice competed in La Liga 2 while on loan to Málaga CF in 2008, SD Huesca in 2008-09, and after a transfer to Cádiz CF in 2009. ‘07-’08: A product of the CA Osasuna academy, Erice made his professional first-team debut for his hometown club in 2007 and played two seasons in La Liga competition.
