Whitecaps FC to support Raise-a-Reader Day – September 25, 2013

Raise-a-Reader teaser

Look for Vancouver Whitecaps FC defender Greg Klazura, midfielder Gershon Koffie, and goalkeeper David Ousted along with club president Bob Lenarduzzi, club ambassador Carl Valentine, and ‘Caps mascot Spike on the corner of Burrard and West Georgia Street tomorrow morning!

The ‘Caps will be downtown bright and early from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. PT exchanging special edition copies of the Vancouver Sun for donations in support of Raise-a-Reader Day. 100% of all proceeds support family and children’s literacy programs in BC.

This will be the ‘Caps third consecutive year participating in The Vancouver Sun Raise-a-Reader campaign since joining MLS, while the club also partook in the event many years prior. Since 1997, this program has raised over $6.9 million dollars to non-profit literacy programs and public school and community libraries throughout the province.

Come out and support this great initiative and visit a few of your favourite ‘Caps players!
