VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced on Friday that the club has signed Whitecaps FC 2 (WFC2) forward Cyprian Kachwele to an MLS short-term agreement for the club's MLS regular season away match against Austin FC on Saturday, August 31.
This marks Kachwele's fourth and final MLS short-term agreement of the season, having signed his first agreement in May for the first leg of the TELUS Canadian Championship quarterfinal against Cavalry FC and making his first team debut as a second half substitute in the match. His second agreement saw him make his MLS debut off the bench in the 'Caps MLS regular season away match against Colorado Rapids on May 15, while his third agreement earned him his first Whitecaps FC start in the second leg against Cavalry FC on May 21.

Kachwele, 19, has scored four goals in 10 starts and 17 appearances in his first season with WFC2. In addition to his three appearances with the first team this year, the Tanzanian forward was part of the first team's preseason training camp in Marbella, Spain.
Prior to joining WFC2, Kachwele played for Tanzanian side Azam FC, splitting time between the first team and the U-20 side.
At the international level, Kachwele was part of Tanzania's roster for the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations. In addition, the forward was recently called up to the national team for a pair of 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches in September.
