VANCOUVER, BC– WFC2 conclude their inaugural USL season on Sunday against Austin Aztex, and with that the club will be celebrating Fan Appreciation at Thunderbird Stadium.
As a thank you for their dedicated support, members of the WFC2 Starting 11 will be entered to win "Jerseys off the back." Similar to the MLS team tradition, WFC2 players will present their game-worn jerseys to fans on field level after the match. In addition to members of the WFC2 Starting 11, select lucky fans in attendance will also have the opportunity to win a "Jersey off the back," so make sure to come early and you too could be chosen. A select number of "golden tickets" will be given out with a purchase at the Whitecaps FC merchadise kiosk.
Fans should also stick around after the match for giveaways from players such as T-shirts and balls.
Fan Appreciation also extends to hungry students. Bring a valid UBC student ID to receive $1 off any meal from the concession or food trucks.
Also part of Fan Appreciation, WFC2 are excited to welcome a number of youth soccer teams for the season finale.
Young soccer players ready for the next stage of their playing careers can also take in a special presentation prior to the match about transitioning to university sport. Fans who would like to attend the presentation must register beforehand.
