WFC2 announce 2025 MLS NEXT Pro schedule

VANCOUVER, BC – MLS NEXT Pro unveiled the 2025 regular season schedule on Monday. Whitecaps FC 2 (WFC2) are set to open the season on Sunday, March 9 at LAFC2 (7 p.m. PT) and play their first home match at Swangard Stadium on Saturday, March 29 against Timbers2 (4 p.m. PT). Tickets are available on Universe for $10, and are included for Whitecaps FC MLS season members ($140 value). Season members can access their complimentary tickets by using their account number as their access key at checkout. Youth 18 and under get in free at the gate.

BC PLACE

WFC2 will play two matches at BC Place on Saturday, May 3 versus Real Monarchs, and their final home match of the regular season on Saturday, September 13 against The Town FC. Both matches will kick off at 1 p.m. PT.

Tickets to enter BC Place for the WFC2 matches are separate from the tickets for the MLS matches, and all spectators will be required to leave the stadium in-between matches. Capacity for WFC2 matches is limited and on a first come, first serve basis.

MLS x MLS NEXT PRO

This season, WFC2 will see an increased number of matches coordinated with the MLS schedule, with seven games played in market versus affiliated clubs either on the same day or within a day of the first team in MLS.

SEASON FORMAT

Entering the fourth season for the league, MLS NEXT Pro consists of 29 teams (27 MLS affiliates and 2 independent clubs) split between the Eastern and Western Conference.

Each club plays 28 matches (14 home, 14 away) over 30 weeks. Clubs will play division opponents a maximum of three times, with the remaining matches against conference foes.

Eight teams will qualify for the playoffs from each conference, with seeds No. 1-4 selecting their opponents in the first round. Playoffs will begin the weekend of October 17.
