After a fine performance on Friday, WFC2 captain Tyler Rosenlund has been named to the USL Team of the Week for Week 17.
The Port Coquitlam, BC native scored his first goal for the club to ignite a 2-1 comeback with over Cascadia rivals Timbers 2. The central midfielder had a dominant match, leading by example with his hard work throughout the 90 minutes..
Previous Whitecaps FC 2 players to be named to the USL Team of the week are Victor Blasco (Week 16 - Player of the Week), Marco Bustos (Week 14), Brett Levis (Week 11), Ben McKendry (Week 10), and Craig Nitti (Week 3).
Rosenlund and WFC2 return to action at Thunderbird Stadium this Wednesday, July 15 at 7 p.m. PT against Western Conference foes Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC. Tickets remain available at whitecapsfc2.com.

GK – Jake Feener, Tulsa Roughnecks FC: Recorded 18 saves in his first two professional starts, and conceded only twice, as Tulsa defeated Orange County and Colorado Springs
D – Onua Obasi, Rochester Rhinos: Two excellent performances, particularly in Rochester’s 2-0 win in Toronto, as the Rhinos remained undefeated
D – Lee Nishanian, LA Galaxy II: Was solid in the center of Los Dos’ defense as they allowed only three shots on goal against Sacramento in a 4-0 win
D – Brady Ballew, Tulsa Roughnecks FC: Scored his second goal of the season against Colorado Springs, and put in a pair of solid performances to help Tulsa to a pair of victories
M – Enric Valles, Harrisburg City Islanders: Had a goal and an assist as the City Islanders took an important 2-0 win on the road against NYRBII
M – Andre Auras, LA Galaxy II: Scored a spectacular free kick, and distributed well in the center of midfield in Los Dos’ 4-0 win against Sacramento
M – Tyler Rosenlund, Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2: Scored a fine goal, and put in a composed performance to lead WFC2 to a 2-1 win against Portland
M – Ricardo Velazco, Real Monarchs SLC: Had a goal and an assist as the Monarchs took an impressive 3-1 win against Austin
F – Anthony Jackson-Hamel, FC Montreal: Had a pair of excellent goals as Montreal claimed a 4-2 win against Pittsburgh
F – Oalax Anderson, Seattle Sounders FC 2: Scored twice in the opening 15 minutes to send S2 on its way to a 4-0 win against Arizona
F – Dane Kelly, Charleston Battery: Struck for a pair of goals as the Battery completed a season sweep of Harrisburg with a 4-0 win
