The 18-year-old midfielder scored on a wicked strike in a 2-2 draw for his New Zealand squad against Uzbekistan. The result keeps the Kiwis in contention to advance from Group A, as they prepare to take on host country Argentina in their final group match on Friday (2 p.m. PT on TSN).
Herdman has shown that shooting ability many times before with Whitecaps FC 2 (WFC2) and the Whitecaps FC BMO Academy, with his latest goal coming on April 23 vs. Minnesota United FC.
