VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced on Wednesday that midfielder J.C. Ngando has been re-signed to a new contract through 2025, with club options for 2026 and 2027.
“We’re happy to have agreed on a new contract with J.C.,” said Axel Schuster, Whitecaps FC sporting director. “He had a productive loan in Las Vegas where he was able to earn regular competitive minutes. We look forward to helping him continue his development."

Ngando spent the 2024 season on loan with USL Championship side Las Vegas Lights FC, starting all 38 of his appearances, tallying two goals as well as five assists. The the 25-year-old midfielder received league recognition for his performances during the USL Championship regular season, as he was named to the 2024 All-League Second Team. He also helped the Lights reach the Western Conference Final in the 2024 USL Cup Playoffs for the first time in the club’s history.
Born in Douala, Cameroon and raised in France, Ngando was originally acquired by Vancouver after being selected fifth overall in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft from the University of North Carolina Greensboro. In his first season as a professional, Ngando spent time with both the first team and Whitecaps FC 2 (WFC2). With the first team, Ngando started three matches and made 14 appearances across all competitions, while with WFC2 he tallied a goal and three assists across 13 appearances in MLS NEXT Pro action.
