Vancouver Whitecaps FC defender Tristan Blackmon was named to the MLS Team of the Week on Monday for his performance against Sporting Kansas City in Week 5.
The native of Las Vegas, Nevada recorded a game-high 11 duels won, seven recoveries, four clearances, three interceptions and two successful tackles en route to helping the 'Caps secure their second clean sheet of the season.
Blackmon becomes the second 'Caps player to be named to the Team of the Week this season, following up from Thomas Hasal's inclusion in Week 2.
