Kid Captain
Whitecaps FC are honoured to have Chantal Chan from Special Olympics BC as Kid Captain for Sunday's MLS home opener against Los Angeles Galaxy.
In her 17 years as a Special Olympics athlete, Chantal has won multiple medals in cross country skiing at provincial and national competitions. Now she is on her way to the Special Olympics World Games! Chantal will compete next week in Italy at the 2025 Special Olympics World Winter Games. She says she is honoured to be a member of Special Olympics Team Canada, and she aims to reach the podium again! Her favourite accomplishments to date are winning gold in the 1k and silver in the 500m and 2.5k at National Games and feeling good performing her best.
Please join in welcoming Chantal to the match!
Visit the Special Olympics BC booth at section 212 to find out more about the amazing work they do in our province.
Supporter of the Match
Sunday's Supporter of the Match will be Kevin Kerr from the Southsiders.
Kevin has been casucally following the 'Caps since 2007, and when he moved to Vancouver six years ago he became a season ticket holder and Southsider, being elected to the Board of Directors this year.
His favourite memory was doing a road trip to Portland for the away game last year in June, leaving with even more supporters joining the Southside.
Kevin's favourite part of being a supporter, apart from the comradery, is seeing people around the city who don't follow the 'Caps in awe of a wizard walking around and getting interested.
