Kid Captain

Whitecaps FC are honoured to have Xavier Evanson from BC Children's Hospital as Kid Captain for Saturday's home match against Minnesota United FC.

Xavier is a brave seven-year-old receiving treatment for cancer at BC Children's Hospital. He was diagnosed in July 2022, mere weeks after signing up for his very first soccer team. After two long years of longing to play on a team, he was able to begin last month. Xavier loves the game. He has practiced in the backyard with his brothers throughout his cancer treatment. He is strong and determined to have fun and do his best. The tenacity and courage it took to fight cancer helps him be the best he can be on and off the field.

Please join in welcoming Xavier to the match!

Supporter of the Match

Saturday's Supporter of the Match will be Steve Maddess from Vancouver Southsiders.

Steve was originally a season member from 1977 to 1983 and has been a supporter since the inaugural MLS season in 2011. His favourite memory is the 1979 Soccer Bowl and parade in Robson Square. He enjoys being a supporter to do what he loves, singing and encouraging the boys on for a win!
