Vancouver Whitecaps FC and Purolator teamed up together on Saturday, June 15 to Tackle Hunger. In support of the Greater Vancouver Food Bank (GVFB), Whitecaps FC fans attending the match were asked to bring non-perishable food items or a monetary donation. In return, the first 450 fans to make a donation received a Whitecaps FC player-autographed pennant and were entered into the chance to win great ‘Caps prizes.
With everyone’s generous support, Whitecaps FC and Purolator were able to donate 6,200 lbs of food to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank which supports over 100 local agencies in Vancouver, New Westminster, Burnaby, and the North Shore. The GVFB reaches out to 27‚000 people weekly through 15 food depots. Since 2003, the Purolator Tackle Hunger initiative has helped deliver the equivalent of over 5.9 million pounds of food around Canada.
Whitecaps FC would like to thank Purolator and our fans for their generosity to those in need. To find out more about how you can help or to donate to The Greater Vancouver Food Bank, please visit: https://www.foodbank.bc.ca.
