ON THE ROAD AGAIN: Vancouver Whitecaps FC will be playing their third road match in the first four weeks of the new season, when they travel to California to face Los Angeles FC this weekend at Banc of California Stadium. After last weekend's match at Houston, the Blue and White will once again hit the road to face Western Conference opposition for the second consecutive away match.
FAMILIAR FACES: When the 'Caps and LAFC take to the pitch on Sunday, there will be plenty of familiar faces on both sides. 'Caps defender Tristan Blackmon spent four seasons with LAFC and will be facing his old side for the first time since being acquired by Vancouver last December. On the other side, former 'Caps goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau could be lining up against the Blue and White for the first time since moving to Los Angeles earlier this year, while former 'Caps head coach Marc Dos Santos is now working as an assistant coach for LAFC.
OFF THE MARK: In last week's match against Houston Dynamo FC, forward Lucas Cavallini volleyed home the club's first goal of the season. The goal, which came off a delivery into the box from wingback Cristian Dájome, marked the second time Cavallini scored the opening goal of a season for the 'Caps.
