Ex-‘Caps contingent
There will be a few familiar faces on the opponents.
Centre back Doneil Henry played in Vancouver from 2018 to 2019.
Goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau started in net for three seasons from 2019 through 2021.
And Marc Dos Santos was of course head coach from 2019 into 2021, and has now returned to LAFC as an assistant coach.
What kind of influence will those three have on the match?
Cleaner in possession
Over the first three matches, the ‘Caps haven’t always been at their sharpest.
They need to be cleaner and safer in possession.
That will lead to a better final ball.
Take out the crowd
Banc of California stadium can be a tough place to play, but the ‘Caps actually had two positive performances last season with a pair of draws.
They need to be consistent in their team pressure and structure.
That can frustrate LAFC and take the crowd out of the game.
