STORYLINES

Home comforts: Whitecaps FC have never lost at home against Toronto FC in Canadian Championship history. Vancouver are 3-0-4 in seven previous meetings, winning the home leg in 2009, 2014, and 2016.


Looking for revenge: Wednesday’s matchup is Vancouver’s first against Toronto FC in the Canadian Championship since a heart-breaking stoppage time goal won the cup for Toronto on away goals in 2016. Five current ‘Caps played in that encounter: Alphonso Davies, Erik Hurtado, Nicolás Mezquida, Russell Teibert, and Kendall Waston.


Don’s reunion: Doneil Henry faces his former club for the first time since leaving Toronto FC in 2014. The defender grew up Brampton, Ontario and joined the club in 2008, making 93 MLS appearances before moving to West Ham United in England.
