Vancouver Whitecaps FC attacking midfielder Pedro Vite was named to the MLS Team of the Week on Thursday for his performance in the 'Caps 3-0 home win over LA Galaxy during Week 31.
The 20-year-old Ecuadorian scored his first MLS goal on Wednesday night, as he tapped in a cross at the back post to give the 'Caps a 2-0 advantage in the 68th minute.
The attacking midfielder also recorded a team-high seven duels won, 13 passes in the final third and 81% passing accuracy.
Vite becomes the ninth 'Caps player to be named to the Team of the Week this season, joining goalkeepers Thomas Hasal (Week 2, Week 26) and Isaac Boehmer (Week 21), defenders Tristan Blackmon (Week 5) and Ranko Veselinović (Week 24), wingback Cristian Dájome (Week 20), midfielder Andrés Cubas (Week 15, Week 18), attacking midfielder Ryan Gauld (Week 6, Week 20, Week 23, Week 26) and forward Lucas Cavallini (Week 12, Week 14).
