VANCOUVER, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC attacking midfielder Pedro Vite has been called up to Ecuador's men’s national team for upcoming FIFA International friendlies in June.
Vite will be joining his national team for a pair of friendlies, with the first coming against Bolivia on Saturday, June 17 at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey, with kickoff set for 4 p.m. PT.
The second friendly will see Ecuador take on Costa Rica on Tuesday, June 20 at Subaru Park in Chester, Pennsylvania, with kickoff set for 5 p.m. PT.
This marks the first time Vite has been called up to Ecuador's senior side, having previously represented his country at the U-17 level on 12 occasions, scoring three goals. Notably, the attacking midfielder started all four matches at the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil, scoring against Hungary.
In 2023, Vite has started 13 of his team-leading 22 appearances across all competitions this season, recording four goals and three assists.
All-time, the Ecuadorian has tallied six goals as well as five assists in 27 starts and 47 appearances for the 'Caps over two seasons.
