Canada got off to a strong start at the FIFA U-17 World Cup with a 1-1 draw against France on Wednesday.
The goal for the Canadians was set up by a phenomenal pass from Whitecaps FC Girls Elite player Anna Hauer. Annabelle Chukwu finished by rounding the keeper to give the Red & White the lead.
Hauer is one of nine 'Caps players on the roster, starting alongside Mya Archibald, Izzy Monck, Clare Logan, Jeneva Hernandez-Gray, and Jaime Perrault.
France would later equalize, but head coach Emma Humphries and her team took a well deserved point to start the tournament.
Next up is a match against Japan on Saturday at 7:30 a.m. PT live on TSN.
