VANCOUVER, BC - Add another honour to Marco Bustos' fast-growing list of accomplishments.
The USL announced the Team of the Week for Week 21 on Tuesday and for the second consecutive time, the Winnipeg-born midfielder is among the league's brightest stars.
Bustos earns the recognition - his third overall for the season - after scoring two beauties in the 3-0 win at Seattle Sounders FC 2 last Saturday, both off chip shots in front of goal.
Here's a look at how Bustos' week went:
- July 31: Scored two goals in 3-1 WFC2 win at Tulsa Roughnecks FC
- August 4: Named to USL Team of the Week for Week 20
- August 5: Made his 2015 first team debut in 1-1 WFC draw versus Seattle Sounders FC in the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League
- August 8: Scored two goals in 3-0 WFC2 win at Seattle Sounders FC 2
Not bad for a week's worth of work.
Also honoured is midfielder Andre Lewis, who made the bench after scoring the team's third goal to put the August 8 match out of reach against then top-ranked S2.
Whitecaps FC 2 continue their last road trip of the season with a visit to Cascadia rival Timbers 2 on Sunday, August 16. They are back home on Sunday, September 6 when they host defending USL champion Sacramento Republic FC at Thunderbird Stadium. For more ticket information, visit whitecapsfc2.com.
