Vancouver Whitecaps FC forward Lucas Cavallini was named to the MLS Team of the Week on Thursday for his performance against FC Dallas in Week 12.
The Canadian international scored his third goal of the season from the penalty spot in second half stoppage time to give the 'Caps the 2-1 victory, while adding one key pass, two successful tackles and a game-high 14 duels won.
Cavallini's winning strike also marked his 100th career goal for club and country.
El Tanque becomes the fourth 'Caps player to be named to the Team of the Week this season, joining goalkeeper Thomas Hasal (Week 2), defender Tristan Blackmon (Week 5) and attacking midfielder Ryan Gauld (Week 6).
Next up for the 'Caps is a trip to North Carolina to take on expansion side Charlotte FC this coming Sunday, May 22 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. PT live on TSN1 and AM730 radio.
