Vancouver Whitecaps FC and TSS Rovers will play a League1 BC playoff doubleheader this coming Saturday, July 29 at UBC's Ken Woods Field. Tickets are $5 at the door and free for anyone 18 and under. Tickets can be purchased digitally on Universe.
Women's semifinal - 12 p.m. PTVancouver Whitecaps FC Girls Elite Academy vs. TSS Rovers
Men's semifinal - 3 p.m. PTTSS Rovers vs. Vancouver Whitecaps FC Boys MLS Academy
First up will be the women's match at 12 p.m. PT. Vancouver Whitecaps FC Girls Elite Academy, the regular season champions, begin defence of their inaugural League1 BC title against the fourth place TSS Rovers. The 'Caps and TSS split their two matches this season, with TSS winning 2-1 at Ken Woods Field on May 27, and Whitecaps FC winning 2-1 on June 21 at Swangard Stadium.
Last year the 'Caps defeated Varsity FC (now Nautsa'mawt FC) 2-1 in a thrilling League1 BC final at Swangard Stadium.
Then at 3 p.m. PT, the third place Whitecaps FC Boys MLS Academy face the second place TSS Rovers, with the match being played at Ken Woods due to Swangard Stadium being unavailable. TSS come into the match as defending League1 BC champions, while the 'Caps qualified for the playoffs for the first time after losing only two matches all season long. The 'Caps went unbeaten against TSS this season, winning 1-0 at Ken Woods Field on May 27, and playing to a 1-1 draw at Swangard Stadium on June 21.
