League1 BC: Going for the three-peat

A huge month of cup action continues.

The Vancouver Whitecaps FC League1 BC women's squad will look to make it a three-peat when they face Burnaby FC in the League1 BC championship final this coming Sunday, August 4 at Swangard Stadium. Kickoff will be at 1 p.m. PT.

Following this match, they will leave on Tuesday as they look to defend their League1 Canada Inter-Provincial Championship at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, Ontario. They will face League1 Alberta champions Calgary Blizzard in the semifinals on Friday, August 9, with the final set for Sunday, August 11.

From there, they will head straight to El Salvador to kick off the Preliminary Round of the inaugural Concacaf W Champions Cup. They will play Alianza Women FC on Thursday, August 15.

How they got here?

The 'Caps were League1 BC regular season champions, finishing with the first undefeated season in league history. They then beat TSS Rovers 4-2 in the semifinals.

Burnaby FC, in their inaugural season, finished in third place. They defeated second place Unity FC in a shootout after a 1-1 draw in their semifinal.

Whitecaps FC won both regular season matches, 2-0 on May 15 at Burnaby Lake Sports Complex, and 4-0 on July 14 at Thunderbird Stadium.
