Vancouver Whitecaps FC are honoured to have MJ Harris, Quiin’tunaat, a Stz’uminus Nation youth from Hope and Health as Kid Captain of the club's home match against LA Galaxy at Rio Tinto Stadium on July 17.
Hope and Health is a non-profit organization and longstanding ‘Caps community partner that uses sport and play for social impact, developing life and leadership skills with Indigenous children and youth.
MJ is being recognized as an outstanding Hope and Health youth champion for her incredible work ethic, self-determination and kindness on and off the pitch.
At 10 years old, MJ has a vision for herself, stating “I want to be Chief” in a recent Hope and Health H3 online session. MJ’s aspirations of supporting her community continuously inspire her teammates and coaches.
