Vancouver Whitecaps FC goalkeeper Thomas Hasal and attacking midfielder Ryan Gauld have been named to the MLS Team of the Week for Week 33 after helping the 'Caps to a massive third straight win at BC Place.
Hasal earns his third selection to the MLS Team of the Week this season after posting a five-save shutout, his fifth of the season.
Gaul earns his fifth selection to the MLS Team of the Week this season. The Scotsman continued his strong form as one of the hottest players in the league, recording a goal and assist, making it 14 goal contributions in his past 14 MLS appearances.
The two selections mark the 17th and 18th times a 'Caps player has been named to the Team of the Week this season, with 10 different players featured. Previous selections include Hasal (Week 2, Week 26) and Isaac Boehmer (Week 21), defenders Tristan Blackmon (Week 5) and Ranko Veselinović (Week 24), wingback Cristian Dájome (Week 20), wingback Julian Gressel (Week 32), midfielder Andrés Cubas (Week 15, Week 18), attacking midfielders Ryan Gauld (Week 6, Week 20, Week 23, Week 26) and Pedro Vite (Week 31), and forward Lucas Cavallini (Week 12, Week 14).
The 'Caps can complete their remarkable turnaround and clinch a spot in the 2022 MLS Cup Playoffs with a victory on Decision Day in their regular season finale at Minnesota United FC this coming Sunday, October 9.
