Vancouver Whitecaps FC are pleased to announce that the second annual ‘Faith Night’ will take place at the ‘Caps next home match on Saturday, September 28, against Real Salt Lake at BC Place. Kickoff for the match will be at 4 p.m. PT.
Last season, over 400 participants from various church youth groups throughout the Lower Mainland came out in support of the event with the 2013 edition aiming to provide fans with the best experience of the season.
Those who purchase Faith Night 2013 tickets will enjoy a Western Conference showdown between two MLS Cup playoff contenders, with limited availability located in the teal ($25) and/or yellow ($30) sections. Following the match, Whitecaps FC head coach Martin Rennie will speak on the topic of faith and leadership for approximately 20 minutes. Following Rennie’s speech, a time of worship led by musicians from Broadway Church will conclude the event.
Jon Gifford, associate pastor of youth and young adults at Peace Mennonite Church, attended Faith Night 2012 and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. “Our youth group couldn’t believe the quality of the event last season and we’re excited to see it return. For people who haven’t had the opportunity to listen to Martin Rennie speak, this event provides a meaningful opportunity to collaborate faith and sports under one roof with a wonderful community of people.”
