Build on the first half
The 'Caps were very good in the first half last weekend, despite the disappointing end result.
The energy and attacking play was excellent. The passing numbers were among the best in MLS.
We need to build on that this weekend.
Get Córdova up to speed
Sergio Córdova only played the final 15 minutes of the season opener.
It was a brief appearance but he looked like a real handful.
We will need him throughout this season.
Ready for the fight
This will be San Jose's home opener.
The Earthquakes also lost their first game after leading 1-0 past the 90 minutes in Atlanta before conceding two very late goals in stoppage time.
They will be motivated. We need to match their energy and play with a lot of discipline.
We can be patient.
