Canada won their second consecutive match at the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup, defeating New Zealand 2-0 at the Stade des Alpes in Grenoble, France on Saturday.
Former Whitecaps FC Girls Elite REX member Jayde Riviere earned the start for Canada, coming in at right back.
After a scoreless first half, Jessie Fleming opened the scoring in the 48th minute.
Nichelle Prince then put home a rebound in the 79th minute for the clinching goal.
Up next for Canada is their final Group E match against the Netherlands on Thursday, June 20 at the Stade Auguste-Delaune in Reims. Canada will need a win to clinch first place in the group.
