SANTA DOMINGO, DR – Canada qualified for the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup on Saturday with a 2-0 win over Puerto Rico.
The result gave Canada a third place finish at the Concacaf U-20 Women's Championship. Whitecaps FC Girls Elite graduate Holly Ward finished the tournament with four goals, while fellow 'Caps alum Mia Pante added one goal from her defensive position. Whitecaps FC BMO Academy Centres director Mike Ayyash was a technical assistant with the team.
The 2022 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup will be played from August 10 to 28 in Costa Rica.
