WRAPPING UP THE ROAD SWING: Whitecaps FC 2 wrap up their three-game road swing on Sunday as they face fellow Western Conference side Houston Dynamo 2 at AVEVA Stadium. The young 'Caps come up against a Dynamo side that has won their last three matches, while WFC2 forward Lowell Wright has scored twice in his last three appearances.
MAKING MOVES: WFC2 announced four new signings on August 3, acquiring Gambian defender Dembo Saidykhan, Tunisian midfielder Malek Mehri, Canadian midfielder Malcolm Simmons, and Tanzanian forward Cyprian Kachwele. All four players signed MLS NEXT Pro contracts through 2024. In addition, midfielder Vasco Fry was sent out on loan to Canadian Premier League side Vancouver FC through to the end of the 2023 season.
