CASCADIA CLASH: Whitecaps FC 2 return home to Swangard Stadium as they get set to host Tacoma Defiance in an all-Cascadia clash this Sunday, May 21. The young 'Caps will be looking to build on their home form, having posted a 3W-1L-0SW-0SL record through their first four matches at Swangard this season. Meanwhile, Tacoma come into Sunday's match on a four-game unbeaten streak and have not lost an away match since April 7 at Austin FC II.
LIVE, LAUGH, LEVONTE: WFC2 forward Levonte Johnson has enjoyed a fruitful start to life with the 'Caps. The native of Brampton, Ontario, who has tallied four goals and an assist in MLS NEXT Pro this season, signed an MLS short-term agreement with the 'Caps first team for their Canadian Championship quarterfinal match against York United FC and scored on his first team debut en route to a 4-1 victory. With the goal, Johnson became the second WFC2 player to score on his first team debut after signing a short-term agreement, with Simon Becher accomplishing the feat last season against Houston Dynamo FC.
U-20 WORLD CUP BOUND: WFC2 centre back Finn Linder and midfielder Jay Herdman have been named to New Zealand's FIFA U-20 World Cup roster. The tournament, which is set to take place starting this weekend from May 20 to June 11, will see New Zealand take on hosts Argentina, Guatemala, and Uzbekistan in Group A.
