WFC2 IS BACK: Whitecaps FC 2 are back in action this week as they open up the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro regular season against North Texas SC at Choctaw Stadium. The young 'Caps will be aiming to secure their first playoff berth in MLS NEXT Pro, having narrowly missed out the past two seasons. In their last visit to Arlington, Texas, WFC2 claimed a rampant 4-1 away win.
NEW FACES: There's several new faces on this year's WFC2 roster. Most recently, the club added defender Buster Sjöberg, midfielder Eliot Goldthorp, and forward Nicolas Fleuriau Chateau to the mix. Sjöberg was originally selected 71st overall in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft, while Goldthorp and Fleuriau Chateau were selected 45th and 74th overall respectively in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft. In addition, defender Dembo Saidykhan, midfielder Malek Mehri, and forward Cyprian Kachwele are set for their first full seasons with the club after arriving in Vancouver late last year.
