WEEKLY STORYLINES

THE STRETCH RUN: With 10 games remaining in their 2024 MLS NEXT Pro regular season campaign, Whitecaps FC 2 sit fourth in a Western Conference playoff spot with 32 points. In fact, six of WFC2's last 10 matches will come at Swangard Stadium. The young 'Caps will look to make the most of the stretch run starting on Friday night as they visit Sporting Kansas City II at Rock Chalk Park, a place where they've yet to win at in MLS NEXT Pro.

ACADEMY STEPPING UP: With multiple players away with the first team over the last couple weeks, several Whitecaps FC BMO MLS Academy products have made their recently made their WFC2 and professional debuts. Last week alone, the young 'Caps had two debutants take to the field in defender Sahai Williams and wingback Elijah Bean. Meanwhile, in the match against Tacoma Defiance on July 14, forward Cristiano Da Silva, forward David Ajagbe, and midfielder Aidan Fong made their WFC2 and professional debuts. With Finn Linder and Eliot Goldthorp set to be part of the first team's matchday roster against Club Tijuana on Saturday, expect some more Academy products to feature for WFC2 on Friday.

SCORING FOR FUN: Not only have the young 'Caps been putting up points in the standings lately, but they've also been firing on all cylinders in front of goal. The squad has scored three or more goals in six of their last 11 matches, scoring four goals in three of those outings. WFC2 also sits second in the Western Conference in goals scored with 36 and hold the fourth-best goal differential in the league with +10.
