WEEKLY STORYLINES

THE STRETCH RUN: With six games remaining in their 2024 MLS NEXT Pro regular season campaign, Whitecaps FC 2 will look to continue their push to the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro Cup Playoffs this week as they continue their five-game homestand at Swangard Stadium. The young 'Caps are set to take on Sporting Kansas City II on Saturday in the second meeting of the season between the two sides this season. The Blue and White drew 1-1 with SKCII earlier this month in the first meeting at Rock Chalk Park, but claimed a 5-4 shootout win to claim the extra point.

CHATEAU SHOW: Forward Nicolas Fleuriau Chateau has enjoyed a productive debut season with WFC2. The 22-year-old, who was selected 74th overall by Whitecaps FC in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft, has scored in three of the last five matches to bring his season total up to eight, which is tied for the most goals in a single season by a WFC2 player in the MLS NEXT Pro era. With a goal on Saturday, the Canadian would break the record which was previously held by former forward Simon Becher during the club's inaugural MLS NEXT Pro season in 2022. Fleuriau Chateau has also recorded three assists and has started 16 of his 18 appearances in his first season with the club.
