Canada Soccer announced on Monday that Whitecaps FC Homegrown midfielder Patrick Metcalfe has been called in to train with the Canadian men's national team as they prepare for their upcoming World Cup qualifying matches.
Metcalfe, 22, is a product of the Whitecaps FC BMO Academy System. The native of Richmond, BC has made eight MLS appearances and two starts over the past two seasons. Earlier this year he represented Canada at the Concacaf Olympic qualifying tournament in Mexico, starting all four matches for his country.
