Jordan Harvey announced on his social media on Friday that he has signed as a free agent with MLS expansion side Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC). Harvey returns home to California after spending the past seven seasons playing in Vancouver with Whitecaps FC.
“Jordan was the ultimate professional on and off the field during his seven seasons in Vancouver," said Whitecaps FC head coach Carl Robinson. "He led by example and was a fantastic ambassador in the community. He helped set the culture here and push this club forward, and he was an absolute pleasure to work with. We wish him and his family nothing but the best in LA.”
"Vancouver will always hold a huge part of my heart," noted Harvey. "This city not only allowed me to build a career on the field, it also was the perfect setting to create unforgettable memories off of it. My family and I will always cherish this city and the many people that helped make this our second home. To the fans, players and organization, I appreciate your unwavering support and commitment throughout the years. A simple thank you could never express the appreciation I have for the time I’ve spent here."
The native of Mission Viejo, California leaves Whitecaps FC as the club's all-time leader in MLS regular season starts, appearances, and minutes played, and is tied for 13th all-time in club history in matches played. Across all competitions, Harvey tallied 10 goals and 10 assists in 186 starts and 200 appearances.
