The little man came up big on Saturday night at BC Place.
Vancouver Whitecaps FC winger Cristian Techera, who stands at 5-foot-2, scored a second-half brace in a 4-0 rout over Real Salt Lake.
For his efforts, the 23-year old Uruguayan has been named to the MLS Team of the Week (fullback Jordan Harvey made the bench for his two-assist performance). Techera’s second goal, a long-range blast into the bottom right corner, is also up for MLS Goal of the Week.

Techera now has four goals and three assists in just 14 appearances and nine starts this season.
Next up for Whitecaps FC is the first leg of the Amway Canadian Championship Final on Wednesday at Montreal Impact (4:30 p.m. PT on sportsnet.ca and Sportsnet World). The ‘Caps then return to MLS action on Saturday against Sporting Kansas City (6 p.m. PT on TSN2).
