Darren Mattocks, take a bow.
The Vancouver Whitecaps FC striker scored a looping header in Jamaica’s stunning 2-1 win over the U.S. on Wednesday in the CONCACAF Gold Cup semifinal.
It was a momentous win for the Reggae Boyz, who advance to the Gold Cup final for the first time in the nation’s history. This was also just Jamaica’s second win over the U.S. in 22 all-time meetings.
The Reggae Boyz will now meet Mexico in the Gold Cup final on Sunday in Philadelphia, meaning Mattocks will be unavailable for Whitecaps FC's match against San Jose Earthquakes on Sunday at BC Place.
Mattocks, 24, has nine goals in 29 appearances with the Jamaican men’s national team.
