Yohei Takaoka named to MLS Team of the Matchday

Vancouver Whitecaps FC goalkeeper Yohei Takaoka has been named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 8.

The Japanese shot-stopper made seven saves to help the 'Caps extend their MLS unbeaten streak to six matches with a 0-0 draw at Austin FC. Takaoka has now kept three straight clean sheets in MLS play, as Whitecaps FC have not conceded a goal in their last 320 minutes of league play.

Takaoka becomes the fifth Whitecaps FC player to be named to the MLS Team of the Matchday this season, joining Julian Gressel (Matchday 7), Ali Ahmed (Matchday 6), Simon Becher (Matchday 5, Matchday 6), and Tristan Blackmon (Matchday 4).
