William Yoachim named ‘Caps 2014 Community MVP

Thank you 'Caps fans, for your nominations; a winner has been chosen for the Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2014 Community MVP. Join us in congratulating William “Bill” Yoachim!


Bill is currently the Executive Director of Kw’umut Lelum Child and Family Services and an elected member of Chief and Council for Snuneymuxw First Nation.

He is a passionate and tireless advocate for Aboriginal children and youth committed to improving the life conditions for future generations. He is the co-founder and a key organizer of the annual Hope and Health movement, an event put on in partnership with Vancouver Whitecaps FC that utilizes soccer to inspire hope and health across communities.


As a 2014 Community MVP, Bill is one of 19 finalists vying for the chance to win the Community MVP Grand Prize. Bill still needs the support of the community to vote and help him win the Grand Prize, which includesa $10,000 donation to the winner’s charity of choice and a trip to the 2014 AT&T MLS All-Star Game in Portland, Oregon! 


The trip for the winner and one (1) guest includes: 


• Accommodations for two (2) nights
• Roundtrip coach airfare
• Two (2) tickets to the 2014 AT&T MLS All-Star Game at Providence Park on August 6, 2014
• Recognition during the 2014 AT&T MLS All-Star Game
• 2014 AT&T MLS All-Star Gift Bag
• The nominator of the Grand Prize winner and one (1) guest will also receive a trip to the 2014 AT&T MLS All-Star Game (*$10,000 donation not included in Nominators prize package)


The Grand Prize winner will be determined based on the voting results during a two-week period, until Friday, July 25 at 4pm ET. In addition to voting at MLSsoccer.com/communitymvp,  ‘Caps fans will also have the opportunity to vote once in a 24-hour period beginning Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 12:01 pm ET until 11:59 a.m. ET on Friday, July 25, 2014 via Twitter by tweeting: “I voted for the @MLSWORKS @WellsFargo #CommunityMVP Grand Prize winner. VOTE NOW bit.ly/1mFJPRX @WhitecapsFC.”
