VANCOUVER, BC
– Vancouver Whitecaps FC U-23 (1W-2L-0D) are set to battle North Sound SeaWolves (0W-1L-0D) this coming Sunday, May 26 in their fourth match of the United Soccer Leagues (USL) Premier Development League (PDL) season. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. at UBC’s Thunderbird Stadium and admission is free to the public.
WHITECAPS FC U-23
In their last PDL match, the ‘Caps fell 2-0 in defeat to Oregon rivals Portland Timbers U-23. Despite a strong effort, the Blue and White were unable to come back from conceding an early goal that gave Portland momentum.
The task for the home side will be to rebound from two consecutive losses against the Timbers and Victoria Highlanders. The Blue and White will look to capitalize on a home town advantage following a short one-match trip down south.
NORTH SOUND SEAWOLVES
The SeaWolves are coming off of a 2-2 draw in Victoria on Saturday against Victoria Highlanders FC at Royal Athletic Park in Victoria.
In their first match of the season, the Washington state side fell 2-1 to Portland Timbers on Saturday, May 18, with David Durant scoring the lone goal for the away side.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
The ‘Caps hold an all-time record of 2W-4L-1D against the SeaWolves. In their previous clash, the ‘Caps earned an overwhelming 4-0 victory against North Sound on July 6, 2012 at Swangard Stadium.
Current Whitecaps FC U-23 players Cam Hundal and Bobby Jhutty had goals, while James Farenhorst and Gagandeep Dosanjh had assists in the big win.

Following this match, the ‘Caps will travel to Vancouver Island to face Victoria Highlanders FC in their second clash of the season on Friday, May 31. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. PT at Royal Athletic Park in Victoria.
